The mission of the Youth Development Department is to assist in the spiritual and personal development of youth by empowering them to become leaders in their schools, faith communities, groups and neighborhoods and to develop the youth’s understanding of the value of self, service, social justice and multiculturalism. We will provide youth the skills and tools by offering trainings, retreats, conferences, special events, leadership councils, scouting, campfire and camping experiences. In addition, we will provide support and training for adults who work with youth including ministers to youth, teachers, scout leaders and others involved in youth development. Services are provided primarily in conjunction with parishes, schools, community based organizations and youth serving agencies in the Archdiocese of Detroit.
